1. Unveiling Samsung's QLED 8K TV in Vietnam, Priced from 119 Million VND
The QLED Q900R series, featuring an 8K resolution, is priced at 119 million VND for the 65-inch version, escalating to 2.3 billion VND for the 92-inch model.

Vietnam stands as one of the pioneering markets to welcome the QLED 8K TV, slated to be available in 60 other countries worldwide by the end of 2019. Competitors like LG and Sony might only bring their 8K TVs to the country by the middle or end of this year.

The QLED 8K TV series, codenamed Q900R, sets itself apart from the 2019 QLED 4K models such as Q90R or Q80R... (using two digits). The smallest size for Samsung's 8K TV is 65 inches, priced at 119 million VND. The 75-inch and 82-inch versions are available at 199 million VND and 299 million VND, respectively.

Exploiting the High-Resolution Advantage, Q900R Introduces a 98-inch Version, the World's Largest QLED TV Model. Priced at Up to 2.3 Billion VND, Equivalent to the Cost of Nearly 20 65-inch Q900R TVs or a Condo in Hanoi or HCM City.

The standout feature of the new TV series is the use of a Quantum Dot 8K panel with 33 million pixels, four times more than the 4K standard. The brightness on the Q900R is pushed to 4,000 nits, equivalent to the standards of film studios and double that of the QLED 4K 2018 series.

While 8K panels are available, standardized content is not widespread. Samsung employs 8K AI Upscaling technology to enhance sources to near 8K resolution. Low-quality videos are smoothed at the edges, reducing jaggedness, and a powerful processor addresses smooth color transitions.

The Q900R by Samsung features a minimalist design with sharp, square lines. The flat back contrasts with the slightly curved design of the 2018 QLED model. The connectivity ports are separated into a dedicated box, linking to the TV through a fiber optic cable. The base stands at right angles to the screen.

In addition to the 8K series, the QLED 2019 TV includes four 4K models: Q90, Q80, Q75, and Q65 with screen sizes ranging from 43 to 82 inches, priced from 17.4 to 195 million VND. The 2019 Samsung TVs support iTunes alongside YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video. Users can also stream content from iPhone, iPad, MacBook to the TV via AirPlay. Apart from Bixby, it supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa virtual assistants.

The Frame 2019, a TV series with an art frame design, has also been upgraded by Samsung with QLED technology. Beyond meeting entertainment needs, the product can display photos and paintings with a realism almost like a wall-mounted painting in standby mode. According to Samsung, The Frame costs only about 14,000 VND in electricity per month when using this feature.

According to IHS, TVs with screens 75 inches and larger sold 2.1 million units in 2018 and are expected to grow by 43%, reaching 3 million units this year. The Vietnamese market also witnessed significant growth in the 65-inch and larger TV segment, where Samsung holds a 51.7% market share, as reported by GfK in 2018. Samsung, the world's best-selling TV brand for 13 consecutive years, led the market in Vietnam in 2018 with a 42% market share.
