According to sources from The Elec, Samsung is reportedly developing a foldable laptop model with a seamless Flex Hinge mechanism. This technology has been featured on Samsung's latest foldable phone models, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5.
The Flex Hinge technology helps minimize creases between the two screens as well as reduce gaps when folded. This technology might make the foldable laptop thinner, although concerns about durability may lead to a thicker product upon official release.

Experts in the field still question whether a foldable laptop is truly necessary. Unlike smartphones, the usage of foldable laptops is somewhat different. Therefore, a U-shaped hinge is considered more practical than a Flex Hinge.
An expert has suggested that the practicality of the Flex Hinge on laptops may not greatly benefit users. Some believe that Samsung's entry into the foldable laptop market may not make a difference as the company has a relatively low market share in the laptop industry.
For OLED panels on laptops, Samsung Display and BOE could be potential screen suppliers. As for Apple, the company is also rumored to be developing a foldable MacBook set to launch in 2026.
