The company's decision is unsurprising, as the Galaxy Fold has reached four years of age and has been superseded by newer models.
Though the Galaxy Fold has been on the market for a while, it still functions normally. Many users might continue using it, but without software support, there will be no more security updates or new features, potentially increasing vulnerability to security threats and reducing compatibility with newer apps and services.

The initial launch plan for the Galaxy Fold in 2019 was disrupted by design issues, leading Samsung to delay its debut. Despite these obstacles, the device was eventually launched, but its high price and limited availability restricted its reach to a wider audience.
With the release of the November 2023 security patch, Samsung has removed the Galaxy Fold from the list of supported devices.
For those still using the Galaxy Fold, it's time to consider an upgrade. Both the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Fold5 are excellent choices, providing significantly enhanced user experiences compared to the first-generation Fold.
