Earlier this year, Apple announced the arrival of Apple TV app to all Samsung smart TVs released in 2018 and 2019. Additionally, both the Apple TV app and AirPlay 2 have been integrated into Samsung's smart TV platform, marking Samsung as the first TV manufacturer to support Apple services without the need for additional hardware.
To access Apple TV and AirPlay 2, users of Samsung smart TVs need to install the latest firmware update to activate the services. Currently, users in the Australian market have received this update. However, information about the update in other markets has not yet been disclosed.
Starting this year, all Samsung smart TVs come with built-in Apple TV and AirPlay 2, offering enhanced features such as search functionality and voice assistant Bixby Voice activation... The new update also allows users to stream content from their iPhone and iPad to the TV via AirPlay 2.
The Apple TV app has been redesigned with a Channels tab, where users can discover their favorite content from the internet and various streaming services. Additionally, the app offers special settings where content is displayed based on user preferences.
To manually update the firmware on your TV, users can navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update and select Check for updates.
