The world's first 240Hz OLED laptop display by Samsung showcased at Display Week 2022 in San Jose. Razer set to be the first to utilize Samsung's latest OLED screen.
Razer announces the upcoming release of the Blade 15 laptop featuring Samsung's 240 Hz OLED display, slated for Q4 launch with a price tag of approximately 3,500 USD.
Currently, 4K LCD panels for laptops are limited to a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. While ASUS recently unveiled new Zenbook and Vivobook laptops with 4K OLED displays at 120 Hz, Samsung takes the lead with its announcement of a 240 Hz OLED computer display.
Samsung's OLED display doesn't reach 4K resolution but is limited to QHD (1440p) to achieve a 240 Hz refresh rate. In addition to the high refresh rate, Samsung's new OLED display also offers wide color gamut coverage, HDR 10+ support, and Dolby Vision compatibility.
Samsung's new OLED display has a brightness of 400 nits. Although not high, the deep blacks characteristic of OLED screens contribute to a high contrast ratio, improving outdoor visibility.
