Continuing the legacy of The Wall from last year, CES 2019 marks Samsung's introduction of a 75-inch version of its microLED TV. Retaining all the advantages of The Wall, Samsung's new microLED TV promises impressive image quality akin to OLED without the issues of lifespan, burn-in, and with a more suitable size for most households.
Both MicroLED and OLED are display technologies with self-emissive pixels. However, the use of inorganic diodes helps MicroLED avoid the issues faced by OLED's organic diodes such as low lifespan and burn-in. Additionally, the lifespan of diodes in MicroLED remains consistent, unlike OLED where the blue diodes age faster than the other two colors. All these factors contribute to MicroLED being seen as the perfect TV solution, delivering equivalent image quality without the issues of OLED.

Last year, Samsung introduced The Wall, a modular TV design with a standard size of 146 inches. However, this size essentially only suits a few households. Hence, the introduction of the 75-inch microLED 4K TV can be seen as a significant step to bring MicroLED technology closer to users. Additionally, Samsung also announced The Wall 219-inch version, once again affirming the strong customization capabilities of modular TV designs.
Samsung has not yet announced the official release date or pricing for the 75-inch microLED 4K TV. Last year, the company also mentioned that it would take 2 to 3 years for MicroLED to reach mainstream users, and the company is striving to achieve that as soon as possible.
