In case you're unaware, this isn't Samsung's first venture into developing custom CPUs and joining the race in processor manufacturing. Previously, Samsung had worked on custom CPUs code-named Mongoose, but they faced tough competition on all fronts. Shortly after, Samsung bid farewell to Mongoose and its M5 core.

As for Apple, the Cupertino giant has been ahead of the competition for many years in producing custom CPU cores. Even Qualcomm is planning to introduce its new custom CPU cores next year. Hence, Samsung will encounter numerous challenges and needs to exert more effort to catch up with other manufacturers.
Hoping that the past setbacks will leave valuable lessons for Samsung, this also explains why the new custom SoCs won't be unveiled before 2027. The company will have more time to meticulously test new products and potentially collaborate with AMD to enhance GPU performance in the future.
