Typically, users use Recuva to recover various file types such as images, videos, Word, Excel files, etc. However, in reality, Recuva scans a wide range of files, making it difficult to find the needed ones. To locate and recover the necessary files conveniently, simply perform a small setup step as follows.

Step 3: In the File Filter section, click on it.
Step 4: Choose the file you want to find, for example, for Word choose .doc or .docx. For music files, select .mp3.
Then in the String Search section, you can enter the name of the file you want to find.
Step 6: After that, press Scan, and the documents you need will be displayed.
With this trick, you won't be overwhelmed by junk files that Recuva scans. You can quickly filter out the necessary deleted files on your computer.
Sometimes, the Word files you recover may have corrupted information or font issues, making them unreadable. In this case, you need to fix the Word files scanned by Recuva before you can use them. If these are documents you intend to send to others, it's advisable to double-check them after recovery to ensure they're usable.
