Download Zalo to your device:
Step 1: On your phone's interface, open the Zalo app (Note: Ensure you're logged into your Zalo account, if not, log in), look at the bottom left corner of the interface, click on 'Messages' (Image 1), then look at the top right corner, click on the QR code icon (Image 2).
Step 2: At the bottom of the interface, click on 'My QR code', then hold up your driver's license with QR code near your phone's camera for Zalo to scan (Image 3). Within a few seconds, Zalo will display driver's license information (Image 4).
Method 2: Checking QR code with driver's license via the Barcode Viet app
Step 1: Download and install the QR code scanning app on your smartphone using the link below:

Step 2: Launch the app and grant permissions for the Barcode Viet app to operate certain functions on your phone by tapping Allow.
On the main interface of the app, select the QR code icon --> Press Allow once more to grant permission when prompted.
Step 3: Bring your phone's camera to the QR code location (typically found at the back of every driver's license for trucks, buses, motorcycles, etc.)
Once the Barcode app reads the code, it will display information about the type of motorcycle or car license you are using immediately afterward.

3. Do old driver's licenses need to be replaced with QR-coded ones?

All driver's licenses for cars and motorcycles issued after June 1, 2020, are required to have QR codes. Previous licenses still retain their ORIGINAL VALUE until their expiration date as indicated in the license.
In case a road user wants to exchange their driver's license for a new type, they can do so at the Department of Transportation and must ensure they meet all requirements and conditions as per current regulations.
