With the rapid development of the internet nowadays, almost every household is equipped with a stable internet source. However, due to different circumstances, the usage needs of each family vary. For instance, some households with young children want to restrict their internet usage, or some organizations restrict internet access hours within a certain timeframe... This can be easily done, but not everyone can do it. Therefore, in this article, Mytour will guide you on how to schedule Wi-Fi activation and deactivation to effectively manage internet usage at home or in the office.
This article by Mytour applies to TP-Link devices, with similar methods for other models.
Schedule Wi-Fi Activation and Deactivation on Modem
Step 1: To schedule Wi-Fi activation and deactivation, first, you need to directly connect the device to your computer via an Ethernet cable and ensure that the cable is plugged into the LAN port (yellow) of the Wi-Fi modem.
Step 2: Using any web browser, access the Default Gateway address of the device, which is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 depending on the device, and enter the login information admin/admin for the respective username/password fields.
If readers cannot log into the Default Gateway address of the device or cannot access 192.168.1.1, it is likely that this address has been changed. For details on troubleshooting, readers can follow the article on how to fix the issue of not being able to access 192.168.1.1 that we shared earlier.
Step 3: Once you have accessed the Wi-Fi modem management page, locate the Access Control column on the left side and select Schedule, then press Add New to add a new Wi-Fi scheduling.
Step 4: In the right-hand column, begin setting up the Wi-Fi modem scheduling.
Here are the parameters you can set:
Schedule Description: Name of the scheduling
