Braised pink grouper emits a complex aroma, with the bold flavor of pepper melding into the tender, succulent flesh of the fish, perfect when served with fragrant white rice.
Secrets to Making Delicious, Flavorful Braised Pink Grouper
Ingredients:
– Pink grouper
– Coconut milk
– Spices: shallots, spring onions, ginger, pepper, garlic, seasoning powder, sugar, soy sauce, cooking oil, etc.
How to Prepare Braised Pink Grouper with Pepper:
Step 1: Preparing the Pink Grouper
Clean the fish by removing scales and gutting it, then rinse thoroughly with salt. Cut it into round pieces just enough for braising.

Step 2: Marinating the Fish
After the fish is prepared, marinate it with soy sauce, seasoning powder, a bit of pepper, a bit of minced garlic, minced ginger, and about 1 chopped shallot for approximately 10 – 15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse evenly.

Step 3: Braising the Fish
Prepare a pot, add 3 tablespoons of cooking oil and 2 tablespoons of sugar. When the sugar turns slightly golden, add chopped shallots and sauté until fragrant. Then add the fish and braise over medium heat. Braise until both sides of the fish are firm, then pour in coconut water.

When adding the coconut water, increase the heat. Once the coconut water boils, flip the fish evenly and reduce the heat. Continue braising until the fish broth thickens, then adjust the seasoning to taste. Finally, add chopped spring onions and ground pepper, then turn off the heat to complete the braised pink grouper with pepper dish.
