Remote desktop control inherently carries security risks. Enhance your TeamViewer security to mitigate hacking risks with the following tips.

Create a Strong Password for TeamViewer
Instead of settling for the randomly generated 6-character password, create a longer and more complex password with a mix of special characters, letters, and numbers.
Step 1: On the main interface, click Extras (1) => Options (2).

Step 2: Go to Security (1), enter password (2) => click OK (3).
Note: Use a complex password with at least 8 characters including uppercase, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Save it on your phone or a note for convenience.

2. Set a strong random password
By default settings, TeamViewer generates a random password of 6 characters every time you open the software. With 6 characters, it's easy to remember. If you prefer not to create a personal password, you can set a random password with 10 characters, making it harder for others to remember your TeamViewer password when peeking.
Step 1: On the main interface of the software, click on Extras (1) => Options (2).

Step 2: Go to Security (1) => Password strength (2) => Very secure (10 characters) (3) => OK (4).

After setting up and restarting TeamViewer, you will see a stronger access password with 10 characters.

3. Requesting Connection with TeamViewer on Computer
By enabling this feature, whenever someone attempts to connect to your computer via TeamViewer, they will need your permission before gaining access.
Step 1: Click on Extras => Options.

Step 2: Navigate to Advanced => Show advanced options.

Step 2: Navigate to the Advanced menu and select Show advanced options.

Customize your Access Control settings to your preference and click on Configure...

Step 3: Set permissions on TeamViewer to Allowed, After confirmation, and Denied. Click OK to proceed. For options like Transfer files and Execute scripts, consider setting them to Denied if not needed to prevent potential exploitation.

5. Restrict remote control of TeamViewer.

With the insights shared in this article, you can rest assured when using TeamViewer for your work. Wishing you all success!
