(Homeland) - Despite the challenges, Deft has triumphed in securing a spot at this year's Worlds.
Before the LCK regional qualifiers, Dplus KIA's (DK) chances of reaching the World Championship were relatively low. This was due to DK's underwhelming performance in both the Group Stage and the knockout stage of the LCK Summer 2023. Key players like Deft, Canyon, ShowMaker all played quite lacklusterly in the preceding phase.

However, in the regional qualifiers, DK showcased a completely different side as key players regained their form. They convincingly defeated DRX and Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) to secure the final spot from the LCK region for Worlds. After the match with HLE, Deft also shared with the media about the opponents he wants to take down in the upcoming Worlds.
'I really want to face JD Gaming (JDG) and Bilibili Gaming (BLG) at Worlds. They performed well at this year's MSI, so I want to defeat them. The whole team will thoroughly study the version applied for Worlds to gain an advantage in team composition. We will have to compete with many teams from different regions, so this is crucial,' Deft shared.

At MSI 2023, JDG and BLG had an outstanding performance, leading to an extraordinary all-LPL Grand Final. Meanwhile, representatives from LCK like Gen.G, T1 were unfortunately eliminated without their best form. Perhaps for Deft personally, defeating BLG or JDG at Worlds 2023 will affirm DK's strength and championship ambitions.

Certainly, JDG and BLG remain formidable opponents in the LPL region. Especially JDG, as they have clinched both the LPL and MSI 2023 titles. To overcome these strong contenders, DK needs to put in a tremendous effort in the coming days. Hopefully, Deft and his teammates will hit their peak form and realize their ambitions.
