To lock a sheet in Excel, right-click on the name of the sheet located in the bottom-left corner of the Excel interface.
After the options menu appears, click on the Protect Sheet line.

The Protect Sheet function window will appear for you to configure functions related to password locking.
Enter the password to lock the Excel sheet into the Password to unprotect sheet box. Remember to keep this password secure as forgetting it means you won't be able to retrieve or restore it.

The default options Select locked cells and Select unlocked cells provide security by preventing editing on locked sheets and allowing you to unlock sheets later with a password if needed.

Excel will prompt you to re-enter the password to ensure accuracy. Click OK to confirm the settings.

After creating a password to lock an Excel sheet, remember to save the file again to confirm all changes made.

Currently, if you try to enter data into a locked Excel file, you will receive a notification that you cannot change the content of that data sheet.

While other sheets without passwords can still be edited as usual.

To modify the content of a locked data sheet, you need to unlock that data sheet first.
Right-click on the name of the sheet you want to unlock. The options menu will appear, and you should click on the Unprotect Sheet line.

Enter the correct password into the Password field to unlock the locked sheet.

You can now modify the content on the unlocked data sheet.
