Facebook has transformed into the largest social media platform globally, with millions of accounts and daily users. 1. Add Phone Number and Email to your Facebook account.
Email addresses and phone numbers are the most common and widely used contact points linked with Facebook. If someone attempts to log into your account, you will receive email or SMS notifications.
Step 1: Go to the link: https://www.facebook.com/settings

Step 3: You can add your phone number and email here.
Step 4: After adding your email and phone number, click Save Changes. Facebook will then ask you to re-enter your password for security.
2. Use notifications.
Step 1: Still in the Settings section, select Security and Login. This is where you can fortify the security of your Facebook account.
Step 2: Choose Receive alerts about unrecognized logins. This means that when you log in from a new device, Facebook will notify you if someone attempts to access your account and enters the wrong password multiple times.
Step 3: After selecting to receive notifications, click Save Changes. Enter your Facebook password once again to complete the process.
3. Enable two-factor authentication.
Step 1: Still in the Security and Login section, scroll down and select Use Two-Factor Authentication.
(When using Two-Factor Authentication, you need a code sent by Facebook via SMS for login)
Using Two-Factor Authentication can be a bit inconvenient. If you happen to forget your phone and can't receive SMS, you won't be able to log in to Facebook. However, it's the most effective way to protect your Facebook account.
4. Add trusted contacts.
Here's how to recover your Facebook account if it's locked or hacked.
Step 1: In the Security and Login section, navigate to Enhance Security.
Step 2: Add 3-5 different contacts. (Note: Add people you trust or family members, avoid adding strangers.)
