Currently, in the field of parcel delivery, Vietnam's postal service provides three popular transportation methods. Specifically, as follows:

In addition to the mentioned delivery services, Vietnam's postal service also provides the option of 'Send and Collect on Delivery (Ship Code)'. With this method of sending items via postal service with cash-on-delivery, in addition to paying the shipping fee, you will also need to pay a collection fee to the postal service and collect the cash at the postal transaction counter after the shipment has been successfully delivered.
3. How much does it cost to send 1kg through postal service?
Similar to other carriers, VNPost calculates shipping fees based on the weight and dimensions of the sent goods. Express delivery typically incurs higher fees compared to standard shipping. For items with larger dimensions, VNPost converts the size to weight and adds it to the shipping fee.

Note: If you send Shipcode via postal service, you will incur an additional fee of 15,000 VND per order with a value less than 350,000 VND and 18,000 VND for orders exceeding 350,000 VND.
4. How to send items via postal service
4.1. Prepare the Items
- Prepare your goods, packaging boxes, and foam for wrapping fragile items that are susceptible to water damage or breakage, such as glass, plastic, etc. Then, proceed to pack the items in the usual way. Note: For fragile items, use tape to seal the mouth of bottles/jars tightly, use foam to wrap the items with 2-3 layers around, insert foam for stability, and only then place them in the packaging box.
- Provide detailed information of the sender, recipient, type of goods, and the amount to be collected (if any) on a white sheet of paper, affix it on the outside of the packaging box.
Note: Choose a rectangular piece of paper, of moderate size, write the information in the corners on the left and right margins, leaving a blank space in the central area for the postal service to stamp and write the tracking code.

4.2. Locate the Post Office for Sending Items

4.3. Completing Procedures for Sending Items at the Post Office
After locating the nearest post office, please take the items you want to send to the post office and communicate your request with the postal staff. Based on your provided information, the postal staff will inspect the items, check the packaging method, and guide you on how to fill out the shipping form according to your needs (Postal shipping forms are divided into two types: standard delivery form (yellow form) and express delivery form (white form)).
After filling in all the sender's and recipient's information, contact phone number, type of goods, hand over the form to the postal staff to verify the details and calculate the postage.

Another aspect of VNPost compared to other carriers is that you must prepay 100% of the shipping fee + cash-on-delivery fee (if any). After paying the shipping fee, you will retain a copy of the shipping information for cross-checking and collecting the cash-on-delivery amount later.

6. How to receive money from VNPost Ship Code
If you're only sending items through regular channels (without cash-on-delivery), you won't need to worry about this step. However, if you're using the cash-on-delivery service for sending items through VNPost, to receive the payment, you need to remember a few details:

7.1. Postal service working hours
Typically, post offices operate from Monday to Saturday, in the morning from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and in the afternoon from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. They are closed on Sundays and public holidays as per government regulations. However, due to the significant transaction demand from customers, major urban post offices may work later, possibly until 7:00 PM.
7.2. How long does it take to receive items sent through the postal service?
Depending on the shipping method you choose, the time for items to be sent through the postal service will vary: Express shipping takes about 1-2 days, fast shipping takes about 1-3 days, and regular shipping takes 7-9 days.
7.3. Do I need an ID card to send items through the postal service?
Sending parcels through VNPost does not require an ID card. However, if you choose the option of sending items and requesting cash-on-delivery (COD) from VNPost, when receiving the collected amount, you'll need to present your ID card for recording information on the collection receipt.
