Guidance on Setting and Using Tabs, Tab and Using in Word
If the ruler does not appear on the interface, double-click on the left corner to make it appear.
In Word, there are numerous tabs available to align text, including:
Left tab: This tab is used to align text to the left. When you use this tab, the text will automatically shift to the right when you set a tab and type text.
Right Tab: This tab is used to align text to the right. When you set this tab and type text, the text will automatically shift to the left for you (meaning it will take the margin from right to left).
Center Tab: Also known as a decimal tab. If you use this tab, when you set the tab and type text, the text will align to the left when encountering a period.
Bar Tab: When you set the tab at any position, it will create a vertical line, and when you press tab, it will not depend on your tab step.
First Line Indent: At the first line of the paragraph, how much it indents. For example, if I set it at position number 1, then in the new paragraph the cursor will jump to that tab position, and if we type text, it will go back to the original position on the second line.
Hanging Indent: Aligns the tab on the second line. When you set the tab, it will automatically adjust according to the position you set. For example, if I have the second line positioned near the margin, when I set tab 2, it will jump to the tab position.
So now you know how to use Tab, Tab and Using in Word. You can apply this method to format your documents. This method can be applied in Office 2013, Office 2010, Office 2007, and Office 2003 versions.
