For iPhone users who can easily customize their iPhone ringtones, a similar experience is possible for Windows Phone users. Just follow my step-by-step guide for success. Let's dive into each step.
1. General Requirements
- Windows Phone 8 device
- Computer running Windows 7 or Windows 8
- Ensure your computer has Windows Phone App For Desktop installed. Download it [here](link).
2. Copying Music Files and Creating Ringtones
Launch Windows Phone App For Desktop on your computer. First, prepare the music file you want to use as a ringtone on your phone.
The image above displays the default path that the tool will show to access all the music files you want to turn into ringtones for your Windows Phone. If you don't paste the music file in this specific path, no song will appear in the main menu of the program. In my example image, it shows the path on my computer. On your computer, it will be different, depending on where you want to set the default path. You can modify the path by Adding or Removing folders as you wish.
Copy the music file to the default installation path on the tool. The list of all the songs you've copied and pasted will immediately appear on the tool's home page.
To configure your favorite songs as ringtones, simply check the songs you want, then press Add, and you're done.
That's it, now go to the settings on your mobile device, and you'll see the added songs in the ringtone section.
