Do you require an inexpensive temporary mailbox solution for your home? This method offers an affordable option for creating a temporary mailbox with minimal tools. Here's how to set up a mailbox without extensive equipment.
Steps to Follow
Pour concrete mix into a bucket until it reaches about halfway.
Add water according to the instructions on the bag and mix thoroughly.
Mix more concrete and water, stirring until the bucket is three-quarters full.
Insert a 4x4 post into the center of the bucket, ensuring it stands upright. You may need to brace it until the concrete sets.
Trim a 1x4 board to fit the bottom of the metal mailbox.
Secure the 1x4 board to the top of the post, ensuring it is centered and slightly offset towards one end. Use four long deck screws for this step.
Attach the mailbox to the 1x4 board using short deck screws through the holes on the side of the bottom edge.
Once the concrete has set, either remove the bucket or leave it in place. If you choose to leave it, drill or punch holes around the bucket at the level of the concrete to allow water drainage.
Tips
Screw the 1x4 onto the post towards one end so that the mailbox protrudes beyond the edge of the bucket. This arrangement is appreciated by mail carriers.

Before proceeding, check with the post office to ensure they deliver to temporary mailboxes and meet the required height standards.
