1. Set the Time
From the BIOS interface, navigate to the first Main Tab to edit this information under System Time: to set the hours, minutes, and seconds for the system. Also, under System Date: to set the day, month, and year for the system.
With these configurations, the system ensures more accurate time updates. Enter the information from left to right or use arrow keys to move to the desired position.
2. Configure Information for the Drive.
To set values for the drive, these values are typically automatic and system-customized. However, for some reason, if you want the drive to operate according to your preferences, follow these steps.
To change the rotation frequency of a specific drive, select it --> choose the rotation value for the drive, press Enter to accept. If you don't want any changes after displaying the interface, press ESC to go back.
- Auto: BIOS automatically detects and configures parameters for the drive during startup.
- None: BIOS skips the drive check, reducing startup time. This also serves as a way to lock, disallowing the use of a specific drive.
- Manual: Users manually set parameters for the drive.
3. Configure General Machine Settings
In the Advanced Tab, there are 8 configuration options such as data configuration, memory cache mode, input-output mode, and more. Use the up-down arrows to navigate to the desired settings, press Enter to confirm, and press Esc to exit the current menu.
4. Set Computer Security Password
Apart from setting a password for the operating system, you can set a password for your computer during startup to prevent unauthorized access. To set a BIOS password, go to the Security Tab, scroll down to Set Supervisor Password, or select Set User Password.
Press the Enter key to unveil the dialog and confirm, or hit Esc to exit the current window.
5. Reset the System to Default Values
After configuring the values for the entire system, if uncertainty arises when reopening the operating system, navigate to the Exit Tab to reload the original values using the functionality in the Load Setup Defaults section.
Once you wish to reload, the BIOS system will prompt for confirmation. Use the Enter key to confirm or press Esc to exit the current window.
6. Save Configuration Settings
After completing the setup of one or more pieces of information, navigate to the Exit Tab and scroll down to the Save Changes option to preserve the values.
Alternatively, you can proceed to the ExitSave Changes section to save the values and exit entirely.
These are the steps to configure values in the BIOS system that you can practically apply to enhance the efficiency of your computer system. Additionally, you can fine-tune the BIOS to expedite the computer's startup process.
