Steps to Get Started
Accessing the Menu and Configurations
Insert five AA batteries into your controller and connect the wireless station to your PC's USB port to begin.
Download and log in to Steam on your computer.
Press the Steam logo button on your controller to power it on; the controller's light will also turn on. Hold the same button to power it off.
Navigate to the top right of the Steam main menu and select 'Big Picture Mode' (controller mode) for the Steam controller.
Choose a game to play.
Access 'Manage Game' from the left menu and then proceed to 'Controller Configuration.'
Customizing Your Key Functions
Prepare to customize the functions for all your different buttons and keys. With Steam, you have the flexibility to assign any key, pad, or panel to various keyboard, mouse, and game controller functions.
Assign functions to the Left Touch Pad.
Customize the Joystick Move panel functions as needed.
Set functions for your X-Y-A-B buttons.
Assign functions to the Right Touch Pad.
Set functions for the Left and Right Bumpers.
Configure functions for the Left and Right Triggers.
Customize the function of the Back button, including assigning specific key functions and naming them for easier recognition.
Set functions for the two menu buttons, typically leaving them at default settings.
Do not attempt to modify the function of the Steam button. It serves as a quick switch between games and Steam big picture mode and cannot be customized.
Utilize a Downloaded Configuration Package
To manage your configuration, click on EXPORT CONFIG.
Save configurations in the Personal list linked to your Steam account or as Local-only binding stored on your computer.
Consider using community downloads for settings if you're unsure about key configurations. Community settings offer default, recommended, and popular player configurations, each with detailed descriptions.
Customize to your preferences. After downloading a setting from the community, feel free to tweak it to optimize your gaming experience. Save your modified settings for personal use or share them with the community.
Launch your game and immerse yourself in it.
