Lyly Sury: From streamer to caster
Lyly Sury (full name Nguyễn Thị Hương Ly) is currently an MC for the game Liên Quân Mobile Vietnam. Before embarking on this role, she spent over 3 years engaging with the gaming community as a streamer and later briefly tried her hand as a caster (commentator).
Specifically, at the end of 2021, she made a significant transition from streamer to caster of Liên Quân Mobile. Lyly's first stage was the international tournament AIC 2021 - a challenging test for a 'rookie'. Despite being supported by colleagues and the team, work-related confusion was unavoidable.
At that time, after each live broadcast, the female caster received various feedback. Some were gentle suggestions, but there were also heavy criticisms directed towards Lyly Sury, which significantly impacted her. She even became so stressed that she had to announce a temporary halt to all work to undergo treatment for depression.
While diligently treating personal ailments and honing MC skills through courses, Lyly Sury silently but determinedly perfects herself for a better version upon meeting the audience again. And then, her reappearance at the Winter 2022 ĐTDV, APL 2022 tournament as an MC received much positive evaluation and progress from the community.
This makes her feel more confident, acknowledging her self-transformation after a year with the caption: 'A year of change for me. I used to only have a smiling face on screen.' Through a short video clip, viewers quickly notice that in recent seasons, the beautiful host has been progressively improving her hosting style.
Lyly Sury: Juggling between praise and criticism
However, in a sudden situation where she had to replace MC Phương Thảo at APL 2022, the 'senior sister' still juggled between praise and criticism, especially when standing alongside the 'hottest' female MC in Liên Quân. Lyly revealed the pressure of replacing her colleague:
'I'm not the best choice but the only one now. So, I'll try my best to do what I can. Although I try, if comparing between me and Thảo, Thảo is still different. Oh guuuu. I only know how to try my best but don't know what else to do.'
Despite still facing challenges in winning over the Liên Quân audience, Lyly Sury perseveres in listening to feedback, drawing lessons, continuously learning, and striving for improvement. She also candidly acknowledges her weaknesses:
'Speaking truthfully, I've learned through three different MC courses at varying levels. Never has any class assessed my hosting skills as weak. However, delving into Esports is an entirely different field. It's like even the instructors can't delve deep enough. Only through self-study and personal effort can one truly master it. Now, it's these audience members who are the real mentors. I may not be the best, but being open-minded, I welcome and deeply appreciate everyone's feedback. Thank you so much.'
