Even though over 1.5 million spam SIM cards have been blocked (as of the end of March 2023), the number of spam calls has not decreased and shows signs of increasing. In some cases, users receive dozens of spam calls every day with commonly seen prefixes such as 028, 059.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Information and Communications, in the past 5 months, telecom providers have successfully blocked over 243 million spam messages and nearly 100,000 subscribers engaged in distributing spam calls and scam calls. Moreover, in the first 6 months of this year, the ministry has received hundreds of thousands of reports from citizens regarding spam calls. The cases of online fraud have surged by 64.78% compared to the same period last year.

When spotting signs of spam calls, users can directly block specific numbers on their iPhone. Open the Contacts app > In the recent section, tap the i icon next to the desired number > Scroll down and choose Block this Caller.
