Windows 8.1 was released to improve upon the Windows 8 version, yet users still encounter a boot screen upon startup. To directly access the desktop without navigating through the boot screen, it only requires a few simple actions.
First, right-click on the Taskbar. Then, select Properties from the menu that appears.
The Taskbar and Navigation properties window appears. Navigate to the Tab Navigation and pay attention to the Start screen section. In the When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start option, depending on whether you prefer to boot into the default Start screen or directly into the Desktop, check or uncheck this option.
Here, I want to go straight to the desktop, so I will check this option.
Then, click Apply and select OK to complete the task.
From the next boot onwards, your computer will automatically boot directly to the desktop.
