If you access Skype for Web now, you will still see the application using the Skype 7.0 design. According to the company, the new version of Skype for Web, now available in preview mode, will include some additional features, including:
- HD video calls: HD video calls are now available when users make 1-1 video calls or group calls. Learn how to make video calls on Skype here
- Call recording: Record important conversations or meetings with colleagues. Learn how to record on Skype here
- Notification panel: Click on the notification icon (small bell icon) to access the notification panel. To switch to the conversation, you click on the message in the notification panel.
- Multimedia library: Quickly search for links that your friends or colleagues have sent, or shared content in the chat library. Simply click on Gallery to view multimedia files, links, and shared data files, and even sort these files by data type.
- Search within conversation: Users can easily search for messages within the current conversation.
Skype 8.0 for Web is now available as a preview version
To use and experience the preview version of Skype for Web, users must use the Edge or Chrome browser on a computer running Windows 10 or macOS 10.12 and above.
