Skype enhances screen-sharing functionality on Android & iOS devices

In April this year, Microsoft introduces a groundbreaking feature to Skype Insiders using Android & iOS devices, enabling them to share their phone screens during video calls. Now, not only for Skype Insiders, Skype announces the launch of the mobile screen-sharing feature for all users.

According to Skype, the screen-sharing feature on mobile devices proves highly beneficial, assisting users in scenarios like online shopping with friends. Furthermore, users can collaborate with remote colleagues on their smartphones using the screen-sharing feature, located in Skype's three-dot menu alongside other options.

While the screen-sharing feature is a crucial functionality for Skype PC users, it has been notably absent on mobile devices primarily due to limitations imposed by mobile operating systems related to screen video recording. Additionally, the video calling feature becomes more user-friendly with Skype's new design, allowing users to hide the Skype call option with a single tap or eliminate on-screen obstacles with two taps. Tap again to restore the call options.

This update, along with the screen-sharing feature, is part of the latest Skype version for Android and iOS starting from version 12 onwards.
