Despite being considered outdated and no longer as popular as before, Microsoft's Skype service still regularly receives updates, with many new features continuously added this year due to many people working from home. Microsoft has just released version 8.66 of Skype for Insider users, and it only brings one main feature: support for 100 participants in a call.
The number of participants in video calls has increased to 100 on Skype Insider Preview.
Until now, Skype has only allowed a maximum of 50 people to join a group call, but Microsoft's other major communication service, Teams, goes far beyond, with up to 300 participants able to join a Teams meeting, although this is a program aimed at business users. Anyway, now you can conduct Skype video calls with up to 100 people, and this is a fantastic option.

Basically, that's the only major addition in this release, although Microsoft has listed a few bugs that have been fixed in the update:
- Automatic language settings switch to English.
- Favorite contacts disappear from the address book on Windows.
- Logging out freezes the app on Android.
- Upload/download files on Android not working.
If you're part of the Skype Insider program, the new update will be available on your device in the coming days. Regular users will have to wait a bit longer to use this feature.
