Skype unveils new phone calling experience for Insider users

Microsoft is implementing numerous new enhancements for Skype, specifically after the introduction of personalized emoji reactions. Recently, Skype has been rolling out a fresh phone calling experience for Insider users.

Unlike the available emoji reactions across all platforms, the new phone calling experience is only available for mobile devices. Refer to how to call Skype here

The new design helps conceal unnecessary elements on the user interface, allowing users to focus on the call and prioritize video feed. Simply tap lightly on the screen to display or hide common UI controls, with advanced options like call recording hidden in the new menu at the bottom corner of the screen. Additionally, for 1-1 video calls, the video feed is larger, making it easy for users to view what is displayed on the other end.

The new phone calling experience is now available for Skype Insider users in version 8.38.76.134. This means that the new phone calling experience is being deployed server-side, so users have not yet received the Skype update with the new user interface.

Android users can download the latest Skype preview version from the Play Store. iOS users need to receive a TestFlight invitation to participate in the testing program.
