Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is set to utilize the Adreno 830 GPU, promising graphics performance surpassing Apple M2 by over 10%

The successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is anticipated to be built on an advanced 4nm process. Today, details regarding the graphics performance of this processor have also been shared.

According to wccftech, although no specific technical specifications were provided, initial 3DMark Wife Life Extreme results indicate that the next-generation graphics processor of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is over 10% faster than Apple's M2.

Although no 3DMark Wild Life Extreme screenshots were provided by the reviewer Revegnus, he claimed that the Adreno 830 GPU within the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC achieved a score over 10% higher than what Apple's M2 chip achieved in the same benchmark. However, it should be noted that the M2 chip has two variants with different GPU core counts, with the higher-end model having up to 10 GPU cores. Adreno 830 is said to have scored 7,200 points, so it is likely that its graphics performance is only superior to the M2 chip variant with 8 GPU cores.

Revegnus also provided some Geekbench scores for the single-core and multi-core performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, yielding incredibly impressive results of over 2,800 and 10,000 points, respectively.
