'Living in life requires a compassionate heart. For what? Do you know?. Let the wind blow it away, let the wind blow it away....'. Not everyone in this life is fortunate enough to have abundance and completeness. How many people outside of society encounter difficulties, obstacles, and unhappiness in life, despite their efforts and struggles, it is still difficult for them to overcome alone. Therefore, the helping hands, compassion of those charitable hearts are highly appreciated, they are the 'golden hearts' with their humane actions. Nowadays, with social media development, philanthropy online has been widely spread and is a matter worthy of attention.
First and foremost, those who are willing to help, love, and share difficulties with others deserve praise for their 'compassionate' hearts. Scrolling through Facebook, one cannot help but encounter heartbreaking and ironic situations of fate that philanthropists appeal for help. It's the image of a humble woman who tirelessly struggles to support two children affected by Agent Orange, it's the image of a child battling cancer every day, with poor parents selling everything they have but still not enough to afford treatment. It's the image of a six-month-old baby facing the cruel Glaucoma disease, their family selling their home but still not enough for surgery in the Philippines. There are countless heartfelt words and poetic lines from these wonderful hearts when they sympathize with the pain and suffering of the people of Central Vietnam when natural disasters wreak havoc. Whether through material means, money, clothing, or simply through lovingly shared posts, they have spread love, their voluntary mission to golden hearts, allowing them to share more, to be loved more, touching the hidden compassion of each person. Social media has now become an extremely effective tool, bringing people closer together. We cannot help but be moved by the community's contributions, whether it's donating a small breakfast or a cup of coffee in the evening, whether it's donating a few tens of thousands or a few hundred dong to help those in need, these are humane gestures.
However, many people exploit social media to carry out charitable activities for other purposes. They see charity appeals as a way to enhance their reputation, to philanthropize for their own benefit. On the other hand, some are heartless in exploiting heartbreaking situations for profit, copying genuine charity appeals, changing their bank account numbers, and readily accepting any transfer from others, profiting from the compassion of others in a cruel manner. Some even keep a small portion of what they receive after appealing to the community for victims, keeping the rest for themselves, enriching themselves through deceit, selfishness, opportunism, and indifference to the difficulties of others. Many even see it as a 'movement' mocking the pain of others, this is truly condemnable.
We have all admired the heartfelt appeals and practical actions of MC Phan Anh or Miss Pham Huong rallying colleagues and fans to help the people of Central Vietnam. It's the encouragement and call for contributions from colleagues for a young actress who struggles every day with a serious illness while raising her small child alone. It's the poetry, the words of encouragement full of emotion from the online community for those unfortunate fates. The material and spiritual support from the community shines forever in each person's heart. Charity is a noble and humane act, so let it be as wonderful as the meaning it brings. Therefore, there needs to be serious management mechanisms for this issue, to avoid situations where opportunists openly exploit. We all need to be vigilant against appeals, thoroughly investigate, help the right people, do the right things, avoid being exploited by others, especially when social media floods information, causing chaos and confusion.
