II. Standard Model of Social Discourse on the Virtue of Humility
We are born and raised, we learn and work together. Surely, every Vietnamese person cannot be unaware of the five principles Uncle Ho taught, one of which is the virtue of humility.
Humility is one of the noble virtues of humans, it is knowing how to assess oneself properly, not being arrogant or looking down on others. Humility reflects a positive attitude towards life, harmony with others, humble individuals sometimes do everything themselves but do not take all the credit for themselves, they are willing to bear losses without caring about credit or rewards. Humble individuals are always eager to learn from others, always valuing the worth of others more than themselves. They recognize the strengths of others to learn and absorb. Humble individuals never think they are better than others, they do not have an arrogant attitude, do not elevate themselves, so they easily make friends, have many good relationships, and easily achieve success. Moreover, because humble individuals always value others, they are loved and admired by everyone.
Humility is a very good virtue, it helps people to improve their personality, humility helps people eager to learn because they do not consider themselves to be good. Humility helps people to constantly progress, gain more knowledge, become a more perfect person.
Humility is a precious virtue, so how can one become humble? The answer is you must constantly improve and learn, constantly absorb knowledge to see that you still have many shortcomings and you need to learn more to fill those gaps. Make friends with more talented people than yourself to learn more from them, do not hastily rejoice in a certain success of yours, do not fall asleep in victory for too long then when you wake up you have fallen behind. If you achieve success, just rejoice but turn that joy into motivation to continue striving, do not boast about your achievements because in the outside world there are many people better than you but they do not boast about their achievements. Every day, they still live and strive quietly, they do not boast but everyone knows about their success. So, no one can know when they will achieve success, just keep striving, you only truly gain the admiration of others when their mouths mention you, not when you boast to everyone about that merit.
Humility is a precious trait in humans. Alongside it, there are many other valuable qualities to cultivate for personal and human development.
