Exercise 4 Problem: A rectangular land plot with length 3km and width one-third of the length. Calculate the area of that land plot.
Method: Step 1: Calculate the width of the land by multiplying the length by 1/3. Step 2: Calculate the area of the rectangular land by multiplying the length by the width.
Answer: The width of the land is: 3 ÷ 3 = 1 (km) The area of the land is: 3 x 1 = 3 (km²) Answer: 3km²
