Exercise 1 on page 88 of 4th-grade Math textbook
Problem:
Set up and solve:
a) 62321 : 307 b) 81350 : 187
Solving method:
Refer to the method of setting up division of a multi-digit number by a three-digit number in the solution to Exercise 1 on page 86 of 4th-grade Math textbook.
Exercise 2 on page 88 of 4th-grade Math textbook
Problem:
Find x:
a) x x 405 = 86265 b) 8658 : x = 293
Solving method:
- For part a): To find the unknown factor (x), divide the product by the known factor
- For part b): To find the divisor (x), divide the dividend by the quotient.
Answer:
a) x x 405 = 86265 b) 89658 : x = 293
=> x = 86265 : 405 => x = 89658 : 293
=> x = 213 => x = 306
Exercise 3 on page 88 of 4th-grade Math textbook
Problem:
A factory produces 49410 products in a year. How many products does the factory produce on average per day, knowing that there are 305 working days in a year?
Solving method:
To find the average number of products the factory produces per day, we divide the total number of products produced by the factory in a year by the number of working days in the year.
Answer:
The factory produces on average per day:
49410 : 305 = 162 (products)
Answer: 162 products
