A lawn mower in two gardens takes 5 hours 15 minutes. Specifically, it takes 2 hours 45 minutes to mow the lawn in the first garden. How much time does the lawn mower take to mow the lawn in the second garden alone?
Solution Method
The time to mow the lawn in the second garden is equal to the time to mow the lawn in both gardens minus the time to mow the lawn in the first garden.
Answer
The time for the mower to finish cutting grass in the second garden is:
5 hours 15 minutes - 2 hours 45 minutes = 2 hours 30 minutes
Answer: 2 hours 30 minutes.
