Solution: Count the number of square cells in each shape and answer the questions.
Answer:
a) Shape A contains 16 square cells.
Shape B contains 8 square cells.
Shape C contains 8 square cells.
b) We fill in as follows:
The area of shape B is less than the area of shape A.
The area of shape A is greater than the area of shape C.
The area of shape B is equal to the area of shape C.
c) The area of shape A equals the sum of the areas of shapes B and C.
