Sometimes, upgrades in configuration and hardware power do not enhance the smartphone experience as much as features with high utility.
Samsung Galaxy A50 is a new generation mid-range smartphone, recently announced by the South Korean electronics company Samsung. This product has a completely redesigned design compared to its predecessors, along with small but clever features that make daily use simple and efficient.
AMOLED display and Always On Display feature
The most impressive point of the Galaxy A50, which can be considered the highlight of the exterior design, lies in the display. Instead of using an LCD panel like other devices in the same price range, the Galaxy A50 uses a Super AMOLED FullHD+ panel produced directly by Samsung, with vibrant colors and high contrast thanks to the ability to completely turn off pixels.

The advantages of the Super AMOLED screen are most evident when using the Galaxy A50 at night, with apps that have a dark background. Because it can turn off dark-colored pixels, the dark elements almost blend into the night, making the light elements seem to float on the user's hand!
Another great thing about the Galaxy A50's Super AMOLED display is its ability to hide the Infinity-U notch at the top. Although other mid-range smartphones from China have similar designs, the LCD screen still shows the notch even with a dark background because the surrounding pixels always have to emit light.

The Super AMOLED screen also offers us another convenient feature: Always on Display, a feature that is present in mid-range devices like the Galaxy A50 to high-end devices like the Galaxy S10. When the screen is off, the device still displays a small area for the clock and some specific notifications.
I don't usually wear a watch but use my smartphone to check the time, and with the Galaxy A50, I can just take the phone out of my pocket or glance at it when it's on the table to see the time without needing to unlock it.

Optical fingerprint sensor
Samsung's 2019 product generations are gradually moving from rear-mounted fingerprint sensors to in-display fingerprint sensors. The Galaxy A50 is also equipped with this feature, although it's an optical sensor and not as fast as the ultrasonic type in the high-end Galaxy S10 series, it's still accurate enough for daily use.
Placing the fingerprint sensor on the front makes using the phone on a table much easier because I don't have to lift the phone to reach the rear sensor. Moreover, this type of sensor also gives a more 'modern' feel, especially when other smartphones in the same price range as the Galaxy A50 are not equipped with it yet.
Convenient ultra-wide-angle camera
The Galaxy A50 is equipped with 3 cameras on the back, including a 25MP main camera and a depth sensor, but for me, the most convenient camera is the 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, which has an equivalent focal length of 12mm on a Full-frame camera.
This camera allows me to easily capture large buildings, tight spaces, or sometimes create photos with unique, eye-catching effects, completely different from photos taken with regular cameras of other devices.
This feature is also highly praised by reviewers both domestically and internationally on the high-end Galaxy S10 series, and the fact that the company still includes it in a mid-range device like the Galaxy A50 is commendable.
Intelligent navigation gestures and actions
To provide a fresh experience from the inside out, the Galaxy A50 has been updated not only in terms of design but also equipped with a completely new OneUI interface. Along with this interface are some intelligent navigation gestures for users to interact quickly with the smartphone, such as Palm Capture (taking a screenshot by swiping the palm), Easy Mute (silencing alarms or calls by covering the screen with the palm), or Smart Alert (gentle vibrations when there's a notification while the user is holding the phone).
Furthermore, users can completely replace the navigation buttons with swipe gestures from the bottom edge of the screen. The Galaxy A50's screen is already large (6.4-inch edge-to-edge display thanks to the Infinity-U design), and it becomes even more spacious by eliminating an additional element that takes up space, only optimizing to display the content users are viewing.

Digital Wellbeing - User Health Care
Like other tech enthusiasts, I spend a lot of time on my computer and smartphone for entertainment and work. But sometimes, I get too caught up and forget about time, which affects my health, especially my visual health.
In the Galaxy A50 and other new generation devices from Samsung, there's a feature called 'Digital Wellbeing' that can track how much time users spend on each app in a day, helping us adjust accordingly. This feature also allows me to enable the Rest mode, turning the screen black and white and blocking notifications to make it easier to 'detach' from the smartphone before bedtime.
