Today, Sony announced the release of a fresh update for the PlayStation 5.
Sony unveiled a new update for the PlayStation 5 today, bringing a range of features and new enhancements for users. The update will be rolled out globally, including some features previously part of the beta release in early summer.

The latest update brings enhanced support for PS Remote Play on a wider range of Android devices. Sony also introduces new voice command options (temporarily available only in the US and the UK) and improvements related to the PS app, allowing interaction with messages using emojis and previewing someone's Share Screen before joining a chat group.

PS Remote Play allows you to stream games from PS5 or PS4 to other devices – including smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android), PC, and Mac – over the internet or through the home network. This feature provides more options for enjoying your favorite games.
The PS Remote Play app is now also available on devices running Android TV OS 12. To use Remote Play on these devices, simply search for the PS Remote Play app to download and install it.
The update includes features from the latest PS5 beta version, such as the ability to use a second DualSense controller and new sound options for a 3D Audio experience supported by Tempest 3D AudioTech.
Additionally, PS5 players now have new ways to connect with others and customize their multiplayer sessions. The SSD capacity has also been expanded to 8TB.
