Sony's new 4K display series all run on Android TV, ranging from 43-85 inches, featuring OLED and LCD technologies.
1. Sony's 2019 4K TV starts at over 10 million dong
Sony's new 4K TV lineup hits Vietnam from late March, with the X8000G series being the most budget-friendly at 15 million dong for the 43-inch model and 20 million dong for the 49-inch model. The product uses a 4K panel, supports HDR, Triluminos color reproduction technology, and voice search support.

Sony brings two OLED TV models to Vietnam this year, with the flagship being the A9G. Compared to the 2018 A9F, the upgraded version offers an additional 77-inch option, alongside the existing 55 and 65-inch sizes. The A9G features a super-thin design thanks to an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display and Pixel Contrast Booster technology enhancing colors at high brightness levels. The higher-end 49X8500G series adds Dolby Vision technology, two tweeter speakers, smart control, and a more powerful processor. Meanwhile, the X9500G is the most cost-effective with its full-array backlight enhancing deeper black levels. This series also upgrades image processing chips, widens viewing angles, and improves motion processing.

Below the A9G is the A8G with 55-inch and 65-inch screen sizes, trimming some features from the flagship model such as the Netflix Calibrated Mode and enhancing pixel contrast. The product still leverages the advantages of the OLED screen for a slim design, turning the screen into a large speaker. With the X1 Ultimate image processing chip, the A8G provides HDR processing, optimal color, detail, and contrast. With Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, the A9G's screen also functions as a speaker. When characters speak, the sound seems to come from their mouths, not from the speaker system below the screen.

Although introduced globally, Sony representatives state that there are no plans to bring 8K TVs to Vietnam this year. 'We assess the demand for 8K TVs in the country is not high yet, and there are limited sources and content suitable for this product,' said Yasuhiro Tsuda, General Director of Sony Vietnam.
Sony's 2019 TV series will compete with Samsung's newly released QLED series and the 40 TV models that LG is preparing to bring to Vietnam this year. According to GfK, Sony is the second-largest TV brand in Vietnam.
