Sorting clothes before putting them into the washing machine
First, carefully read the labels on the clothes to select the appropriate washing mode for superior cleaning efficiency while still preserving their durability. See more: How to read clothing labels.
Then, sort the clothes according to characteristics such as color and fabric type to wash them according to suitable programs.
Sorting clothes by color
White clothes: For white garments including t-shirts, socks, dress shirts, pillowcases, towels, linen, and other white clothes. It's advisable to wash these items with water at around 50°C (unless the clothing label specifies otherwise).

Washing white clothes separately helps preserve their color.
Sorting light-colored clothes: You can group light-colored clothes other than white such as pink, orange, yellow, light blue... Clothes with white base but colored logos or prints also fall into this category. It's advisable to wash this clothing with warm water around 35°C.
Sorting dark-colored clothes: Dark-colored clothes like black, navy blue, denim blue belong to this group. Note that darker colors are more prone to color bleeding leading to fabric fading. Therefore, it's recommended to wash with cold water around 25°C.
Sorting by fabric material
For delicate fabrics: You need to sort and wash separately for these easily damaged fabrics such as wool, silk, satin, lace embroidery, or any products labeled 'hand wash only'. These items should be washed individually with cold water, or as instructed by the manufacturer.

Thin garments, lingerie: For these types of clothes, it's advisable to put them in a small laundry bag to prevent damage or deformation due to the washing machine's spin speed.
Blanket types: For wool blankets, it's recommended to wash separately and choose the appropriate wash program or hand wash to avoid lint sticking to clothes.
Sorting clothes by dirt level
You need to categorize clothes into lightly soiled, moderately soiled, and heavily soiled to handle them before washing. Typically, for clothes with tough stains like coffee, tea, mud, dried blood, lipstick stains, etc., you should pre-treat with stain remover before putting them into the washing machine.
Ensure appropriate laundry load size
Avoid overloading the machine. This can result in clothes not getting clean, damaging them, and even causing damage to the washing machine.

For a 7kg washing machine, it means the maximum load capacity is 7kg of dry clothes. This figure is understood as 7kg of dry laundry. To prolong the lifespan of the washing machine, it's recommended to wash up to 80% of the machine's washing capacity.
The average weight of a dress shirt and t-shirt is 200g/item, dress pants 400g/item, and jeans about 600g.
For machine-washable wool items, you should only wash a maximum of 2-3 pieces per load. (See more: Tips for washing wool garments in a washing machine without shrinking)
Above are the experiences in sorting clothes and determining laundry load sizes to make your laundry process smoother and more effective. Wishing you success!
