Starting June 1st, South Korea officially resumes issuing short-term C-3 visas for tourists from level 1 countries, including Vietnam.
South Korea officially resumes visa issuance for Vietnamese visitors starting from June 1, 2022
Short-term tourist visa C-3 is a type of visa issued by South Korea for various purposes such as market research, consultancy for commercial activities, tourism, medical treatment, visiting relatives, attending meetings, etc. This visa type was suspended since March 14, 2020, due to Covid-19. However, multiple-entry visas issued before April 5, 2020, are still valid.

South Korea categorizes countries worldwide into two levels based on their epidemic prevention efforts, including level 1 (ordinary countries) and level 2 (countries of concern). Travelers from level 2 countries are not eligible for C-3 visas and must continue to apply for visas for specific purposes. However, Vietnam, classified under level 1, will resume issuing short-term C-3 visas for travelers from level 1 countries.

Additionally, the South Korean government has lifted many disease prevention measures such as exempting mandatory quarantine for fully vaccinated travelers. The country has also lifted the outdoor mask mandate. These actions aim to boost the recovery of the South Korean tourism market.
