The similarity between Southern Jungle and The Creator has caused audience controversy.
By the end of 2023, Southern Jungle was regarded as one of the most anticipated Vietnamese films. Drawing inspiration from Đoàn Giỏi's novel, Southern Jungle introduces a cast of characters that are unique and different from the classic 1997 TV series.
However, Southern Jungle has been criticized for a detail that bears resemblance to another work, stirring up much debate.

The general layout features the head of the main character tilted prominently to one side, while the other important characters are scattered. According to the timeline, The Creator's poster was officially released on the 20th Century Studios' official page on August 31st, while the Southern Jungle poster was introduced to the audience by the team on September 19th.
Comparing and alleging that Southern Forest 'borrows ideas' from The Creator, audiences have had quite surprising reactions. The majority of netizens have defended Southern Forest, arguing that the layout and style of this poster have been around for a long time and have been executed by many teams. The Creator itself is not the first film with such a poster concept. Some audiences even cite many old movie posters like Pirates of the Caribbean, Sicario... having a similar poster style.
Overall, the poster style of Southern Forest is not new and is quite popular, especially with films featuring numerous important characters.
