My house has many paintings depicting natural landscapes. However, the painting of Hoan Kiem Lake in the capital city of Hanoi is still my favorite, endlessly captivating to gaze upon. In the middle of the lake stands the ancient Turtle Tower reflecting on the clear water surface. Above, white fluffy clouds drift amidst the vast sky. Looking further, the majestic and splendid Postal Office building is adorned with vibrant flags. And there is Thê Húc Bridge in a blush color, curving like a floral pattern, symbolizing the hand of a gracious fairy, waving to welcome us to visit the venerable Ngoc Son Temple. The thousand-year-old temple nestles under the shade of ancient banyan trees, with lush foliage. Looking at the painting of Hoan Kiem Lake, I imagine the legend of this lake, which not long ago, my father told me about. 'Once upon a time, there was a large turtle emerging from the water surface, demanding King Le Loi to return the sword to the Dragon King,' which led to the lake being named 'Hoan Kiem' ever since. Perhaps that name, that legend will be passed down for generations to come. I wish that one day, I could stand on the lakeside and admire the poetic beauty of a famous historical and cultural relic of the capital.

That's an image of Thiên Mụ Pagoda, a famous picturesque scene of Huế province. Against a backdrop of azure skies, a multi-tiered tower stands out, dark brown in color, featuring an ancient architectural style. The expansive blue sky is adorned with wispy clouds, drifting gently like white silk ribbons carried by a light breeze. The pagoda sits serenely beside the gentle flow of the Perfume River. A tranquil space seemingly devoid of any sound envelops the pagoda. Looking at the image, one could mistake it for a glimpse into a mythical paradise from a fairy tale. Truly a rare and enchanting sight.

Before me lies a painting of Hoan Kiem Lake in the capital city of Hanoi. Perhaps it depicts the dawn breaking. Looking into the distance, the small ripples gradually fade, eventually revealing a flat mirror reflecting the morning sun's rays. In the middle of the lake stands the Turtle Tower, solemn and timeless amidst lush greenery. Atop the tower flies the national flag, fluttering proudly. Behind the tower, a row of trees casts their shadows onto the clear blue waters. Looking at the painting, memories of the legend of Hoan Kiem Lake that my mother once told me come flooding back. Back then, there was a deity, the Golden Turtle, holding a magical sword bestowed upon Lê Lợi to defeat the Ming invaders and safeguard the realm. And it was here that the king returned the sword to the deity. The name Hoan Kiem Lake originates from that legend. I wonder where that benevolent deity and the sword lie now beneath those rolling waves!
