Firstly, let me give a brief overview of the content of 'The Wondrous Encounters of Bich Cau.' It's a fantastical, surreal tale of a beautiful love between a human and a fairy. Tu Uyen, a poor student, dreams of a graceful girl he saw at a festival. When he sees a painting resembling the girl, Tu Uyen treats it as if she were real. Later, he discovers the fairy Giang Kieu stepping out of the painting, and they become a couple. After facing some challenges, Tu Uyen cultivates into a fairy, and they fly together to the heavens.
If we only look at the content, it seems like a common story. However, upon closer analysis, we find unique values in the work. Unlike 'The Tale of Kieu,' inspired by a Chinese work, 'The Wondrous Encounters of Bich Cau' is a folk story passed down from the 15th-century reign of King Le.
