On the recent anniversary of the Hung Kings, there was a live TV broadcast of the incense offering ceremony to the Hung Kings by state leaders. My father and I sat together to watch this program. People paraded from below to the upper temples. Leading the procession were soldiers carrying wreaths with the inscription 'Forever grateful to the Hung Kings for their nation-building contributions.' Following them were offerings such as incense, flowers, and square glutinous rice cakes. The leaders also followed immediately after. At each temple, the elders all offered incense, flowers, and offerings to remember and thank the Hung Kings. To me, this is a meaningful program, representing the precious tradition of 'Gratitude to the Source of Water' of the nation.

Last month, during the flag-raising ceremony, our school organized a program called 'Accompanying Children to School.' Students with difficult circumstances were called to the stage one by one and given gifts. Each student received a school bag, two new uniforms, along with many books, and study materials. One student represented those who received gifts and expressed gratitude. When I heard the speech, I felt deeply moved. I really care about the students with difficult circumstances and silently appreciate being born into a family that is complete and well-off.

I once visited an orphanage called Tam Duc Shelter. It was a memorable trip, evoking various emotions. We prepared many stuffed animals, food, and toys. The children there are very well-behaved, taking care of each other. I interacted and conversed with the little ones and even peers my age. Despite many shortcomings, everyone maintains a cheerful and optimistic demeanor. I hope all the children and little friends there have good health and live peacefully under this loving shelter.

Last week, a news program aired a video segment about visiting the families of veterans by leaders. On TV, I saw elderly mothers sitting in small, dark houses. On the altar were images of the martyrs who contributed to the nation's independence and freedom. They devoted their entire lives to the country's independence. Gratitude surged within me. We need to appreciate the previous generations for providing us with the happy and prosperous life we have today. I find visiting the families of veterans to be a very meaningful, practical activity that should occur more frequently.

I once participated in a charity program to distribute food to the homeless people wandering the streets. Around eight or nine in the evening, we started walking around the streets to distribute meals. Many homeless individuals were lying on the steps, benches in the park. Most of them were elderly or orphaned children with nowhere to go. Seeing them, I felt immense compassion. Especially for the young ones barely my age, already selling lottery tickets, without a home, unable to attend school. I hope that when I grow up, I will build a shelter of love to provide them with a home and help them avoid spending cold nights outdoors.
