Hello, teacher and classmates. My name is Huyen Trang. Here, I would like to share my thoughts on the soldier's image.
Surely, each of us is deeply impressed by the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army, those who have silently dedicated and sacrificed for the nation's independence and freedom. After studying the poem 'Spring Rhymes' by poet Nguyen Khoa Diem, I further appreciate and honor their contributions. So, what are the differences between soldiers in wartime and peacetime?
During wartime, most soldiers come from rural areas, from different regions, but they heed the call of the Fatherland without hesitation, leaving their homeland for the frontline. During the resistance against the French and Americans, many soldiers sacrificed to preserve springtime for the country: soldiers on the Truong Son battlefield, ten girls at Dong Loc T-junction, Kim Dong, Phan Dinh Giot, Vo Thi Sau... Despite their young age, they fought and sacrificed for the nation's independence and freedom. The soldiers' dedication fills us with admiration.
In peacetime, the nation focuses on building and developing in various fields: economy, politics, culture,... yet soldiers still have the duty to safeguard peace for the country. In remote islands, border areas, soldiers silently dedicate themselves, standing guard day and night to maintain the country's territorial integrity, ensuring peaceful sleep for the people. Especially, during the complex Covid pandemic, we see the green uniforms everywhere, helping us in epidemic prevention efforts and providing essential supplies to everyone.

After studying the poem 'Encountering Rice Cakes', profound emotions about the brave and ready-to-sacrifice soldier's image arise within me. These courageous soldiers steadfastly defend the nation's peace and people.
The image of a soldier is undoubtedly familiar to all of us. When we mention a soldier, we all envision a soldier in green uniform, carrying a frog-patterned backpack, with a friendly, affectionate smile.
During wartime, soldiers carry within them a profound love, leaving behind their families and homeland to go to battle. With a desire to bring spring to the nation, they are willing to sacrifice themselves. We can see this through various works of poetry, historical stories, documentaries, newspapers, etc. Their sacrifices are associated with fierce victories: the victory at Dien Bien Phu in the air, the Winter-Spring campaign in Viet Bac, the Border campaign, etc. Although soldiers may leave, their souls and figures merge into the mountains and rivers.
During peacetime, soldiers continue their mission to protect and build the Fatherland. They endure hardships, traveling to remote areas to assist mountainous residents in farming. Soldiers help minority children build schools. During the Covid-19 pandemic, many comrades have sacrificed while assisting in epidemic prevention efforts. For example, three firefighters in Cau Giay district sacrificed while extinguishing a fire for the people. The contributions of soldiers to our lives are immeasurable. Therefore, let us cherish and appreciate soldiers even more.
