Respected delegates and distinguished guests!
Together with all the faculty and staff of the school!
Today, on the 20th of October, commemorating ... years since the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union. On behalf of the entire teaching and staff members of the school, we extend our wishes for health, happiness, and success to all female staff members of the school.
The history of the Vietnamese nation is a history of nation building and defense. Throughout thousands of years of history, women have played a vital and prominent role in the nation's history. They are the brave and resilient fighters against foreign invaders, the diligent, intelligent, and creative laborers, they are the ones who preserve and promote the cultural values of the nation, and they are the ones who give birth to the heroic generations of the nation. On this occasion of commemorating the 20th of October, let us together revisit the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women through exemplary figures from different historical periods, so that each of us, regardless of our roles, can cherish and take pride in, striving to live up to that illustrious tradition.
The history of the Vietnamese nation vividly records the shining imprint of extraordinary heroines who refused to submit to the enemy, refused to live as slaves, and rose up to fight against foreign invaders for freedom. They are the Trung Sisters, Lady Trieu; General Bui Thi Xuan, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dinh, Sister Ut Tich, ...
In life, they are soldiers and artists who preserve and promote the cultural values of the nation. They are not only an endless source of creative inspiration for writers and poets, but they themselves have affirmed their talent and intelligence on the literary stage no less than their male counterparts. Surely, we still remember: Madam Diem Bich of the Tran dynasty, Madam Nguyen Thi Lo of the Le dynasty, who were honored as scholars by the king, Madam Ngo Chi Lan in the reign of King Le Thanh Tong... have left indelible marks on history, shining examples of patriotism and compassion. Queens, princesses who forgot themselves for the nation's cause, such as Queen Duong Van Nga of the 9th century, Queen Pham Thi Ngoc Tran of the 15th century, Princess Le Ngoc Han of the 18th century. In literature and art: The talented scholar of the Northern cultural land, Doan Thi Diem, left behind the masterpiece 'Chinh Phu Ngam', the queen of Nom poetry, Ho Xuan Huong, the talented and short-lived poet Xuan Quynh left behind immortal works. The daughter of the patriotic scholar Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Sương Nguyệt Ánh, at the beginning of the 20th century was evaluated as an exemplary woman of complete talent and beauty, holding the position of the first female editor-in-chief of Vietnam's first women's newspaper, 'Nữ Giới chung' - the first newspaper of Vietnamese women (01/02/1918).
In the revolutionary struggle, Vietnamese women are the solid rear support for the frontlines, and they themselves are resilient and indomitable revolutionary fighters, guerrilla women, young volunteers opening the way, carrying rice, carrying ammunition with indomitable will, enduring hardships with a revolutionary optimism. They care for comrades and veterans with boundless love. They are Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Vo Thi Sau, Le Thi Hong Gam, Nguyen Thi Dinh, Heroic martyr - Doctor Dang Thuy Tram... There are also countless silent, modest, and humble women; they dedicate to the country beloved children, beloved husbands; they have waited anxiously for loved ones in wartime, only to find themselves with no more tears when their loved ones never returned; They are our mothers, grandmothers, sisters. They are the heroic mothers of Vietnam!
In today's society with many good opportunities, many Vietnamese women have strived to rise up, overcome difficulties, acquire new skills to walk side by side with the regional and global community. Our women are becoming increasingly proactive, confident in leadership, management, scientific research, dynamic, and daring in the market economy. It can be said that Vietnamese women are maturing in all aspects. Awareness of gender equality is raised, women are respected and more equal (Vietnam is evaluated by the United Nations as a shining example in achieving the best gender equality goals in Southeast Asia). Education level, professional skills, and social status of women are elevated. Legal rights and interests are increasingly fulfilled; the material, spiritual, and physical well-being of the majority of women is improved. Women from all walks of life have demonstrated their fine traditions, making significant contributions in all areas of social life, playing an important role in achieving the country's economic and social development goals. Vietnamese women are diligent, intelligent, creative, and courageous laborers. Specifically in the fields of Science - Technology - Education: the proportion of female students winning high prizes in national and international competitions is increasing. The female intellectual force is growing rapidly, with many valuable scientific works, highly applicable, bringing great economic benefits. (Female Professors 3.5%, Assoc. Profs 5.9%; PhD holders 12.6%; PhDs in Science and Technology 5.1%; 19 female Labor Heroes; 250 female outstanding artisans nationwide, many awards, National Artists, Meritorious Artists...
In the production and labor movement, job creation, income increase, poverty reduction, many women have demonstrated management capabilities, courageously overcome difficulties to become successful business owners, honored by the State with prestigious titles, honored by society as Golden Roses... In the world and in Vietnam today, there are more and more outstanding female leaders. In the fields of politics and economics, they are evaluated as talented, intelligent, clever, and self-sacrificing. They are excellent leaders, diplomats, and economic experts; they are both good at state affairs and housework, typical examples are Madame Nguyen Thi Binh, Madame Truong My Hoa, Madame Pham Chi Lan, Madame Ton Nu Thi Ninh, Madame Tong Thi Phong...
In the feudal society of the past, the role of men was highly regarded and esteemed, while women were undervalued and disadvantaged (Men write, women disappear)... Those harsh and burdensome prejudices directly affected women and their development. The country's renovation over the past twenty years has affirmed: The Party and the State have created many opportunities for women to be equal, progressive, and developed. In Vietnam, women account for 50.5% of the population, 50.6% of the labor force. Recognizing the significant role of women in the revolutionary cause, the Party and the State have issued many policies, directives, resolutions demonstrating concern and creating conditions for women to achieve progress and equality in family and society. Many activities are attracting social support and enthusiastic participation from women of all social strata, such as seminars, competitions, exhibitions, activities honoring the significant contributions of women in the renovation process. Particularly, the issue of 'Gender equality' has become a goal of social development; Gender equality: 'Both a creative role and a central issue of development, is a factor in enhancing the growth potential of each country, eradicating hunger, reducing poverty, and effectively managing the state.' To implement the Global Strategy for Women's Advancement 1995, the Vietnamese Government officially announced the Development Strategy for Women's Progress; The Party Central Committee issued Resolution No. 04-NQ/TW: Renewal and enhancement of women's mobilization in the new situation; In 2006, the Gender Equality Law was passed; The Party Central Committee issued Resolution No. 11-NQ/TW (27/4/2007) 'On women's work in the period of enhancing national industrialization and modernization.' Particularly, the Party Congress X affirmed: 'Improving comprehensive education and material and spiritual life, implementing gender equality for women. Create conditions for women to fulfill their roles as citizens, workers, and the first teachers of humans. Training and education for women to increasingly participate in social activities, leadership and management at all levels. Taking care of and protecting the health of mothers and children. Supplementing and improving policies on labor insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, maternity benefits, regimes for female workers. Resolutely fighting against social evils, domestic violence.
Dear comrades and friends!
The ancients used to say: 'An ignorant doctor may kill several lives; A bad geography teacher can dry up the development of several lineages; A young king may cause the decline of a country; But a wrong way of life will damage generations to come.' And that way of life is nurtured and grown primarily from the family; Because the family is the cell of society. A good family, with healthy activities, makes society prosperous. The family is the nest, the cradle of development for every individual, but it is only truly a nest when there is a family atmosphere according to moral standards, ensuring warmth, equality, progress, and happiness, with the Chief Commander being none other than the Home Minister - the Mother in the family. The family is the first school for every individual, parents are role models and, moreover, those who carve into the soul of the young the first moral standards to shape character, a beautiful way of life. Therefore, Education by a man educates one person, but educating a woman educates an entire family. Poet An Nguyen wrote:'Even if one were to travel around the globe, no one else but the mother is the one who tirelessly cares for the child. The embrace from childhood, gradually widens as the child grows up. A mother is the one who gives her child a name, even before the child speaks...' or like the poetess Xuan Quynh: 'Whether they are national leaders or heroes, scholars, or anyone else..., they are still the children of a woman: An ordinary woman, whose age no one knows...'.
In reality, there are many families where parents are not necessarily doctors, engineers, leaders, or wealthy entrepreneurs, yet their children are obedient, loving towards their parents, excel in studies, and become good citizens of society. Surely, many of us have asked and will ask why they have achieved such great happiness? One of the answers that we all know and affirm is: They have succeeded in preserving the moral standards of Vietnamese cultural families - a happy family. Because all the successes, all the glories of each person stem from, are aroused, and nurtured from the family. Those role models are not high and far away but are right next to us, they exist daily. They are the women who are both good producers and know how to care for the happiness of the family. They are women who are good at state affairs and also take care of household chores; they are the pillars; Good internal ministers of cultural, happy families!
Not only fulfilling their civic duties, female officials must also fulfill their roles as wives, mothers, and daughters in the family, with a high responsibility in preserving the traditional cultural values of the nation. In the conditions where life still faces many difficulties and is influenced by the negative side of the market mechanism, women have shown love, responsibility, kindness, sacrifice, understanding, skillful handling of family relationships, family lines, adhering to filial piety, and raising children, providing solid support for their husbands' and children's success in their careers, and nurturing their children to adulthood. They are women who possess all Four Virtues: Talent - Beauty - Eloquence - Virtue, as they say, 'Happiness and virtue stem from the mother, kindness and benevolence stem from the mother,' which is not wrong.
Respected delegates, comrades, and friends!
I deeply resonate with the saying: 'Happiness is when we have a job to do, a dream to aspire to, and someone to love.'
As they say, 'Behind the success of a man always lies the shadow of a woman,' this is indeed true. Our success in our careers, happiness in family life is thanks to the sacrifice, forgiveness of our grandmothers and mothers. Therefore, I respectfully wish all comrades and families always healthy and happy. I wish all women on October 20th full of joy, happiness, and many successes.
I sincerely express my gratitude.
Speech Recap of October 20th Tradition Number 2
The Best October 20th Speech Ever
Respected comrades!
Dear all comrades and union members within the school!
Today, I am delighted to attend the ceremony commemorating the XXth anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union. On behalf of... I warmly welcome and extend my best wishes to our esteemed guests, delegates, and comrades. On this occasion, I also convey my heartfelt greetings and warmest congratulations to the generations of women in our district. Wishing the ceremony great success (cheers).
Respected delegates!
Dear all comrades!
The history of the Vietnamese nation is a history of nation-building and preservation. Throughout thousands of years of history, Vietnamese women have played a crucial role in the survival of our nation. From the inception of our Party, it was made clear that women are vital forces in the revolution and were tasked with liberating both class and gender. On October 20, 1930, the Women's Union was established, under various names to suit different historical periods, yet remained a steadfast organization for Vietnamese women. Through revolutionary periods, the position and role of women were highly esteemed by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. Uncle Ho once said: 'The strength and beauty of Vietnam's sovereignty come from Vietnamese women, young and old, who weave tirelessly to add more goodness and radiance.' In his timeless Will left to the entire Party and people before departing, he wrote: 'In the struggle against the Americans to save the country, women have actively contributed to both the fight and production. The Party and Government need practical plans to nurture, promote, and assist more women to take on all tasks, including leadership roles. Women themselves must strive to rise up.'
Women have become an indispensable part contributing to the success of the Vietnamese revolution, in the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans. In the nation-building endeavor, women have made immense contributions to driving societal development. They are noble symbols of the heroic revolutionary spirit of our people. History will forever record the brilliant images of the 'long-haired army,' the fearless female fighters in prisons, the elderly mothers digging shelters to protect cadres, hiding wounded soldiers, the female militia teams shooting down enemy jets, setting fire to enemy warships, and the young female volunteers 'living clinging to bridges and roads, dying with courage and bravery.' Millions of mothers and wives have overcome all sacrifices and hardships, encouraging their husbands and children to fight, managing both national and household duties, steadfastly producing and fighting. Vietnamese women deserve the golden motto 'Heroic, Indomitable, Industrious, and Responsible,' as well as the world saying 'Without the sun, flowers do not bloom; without women, there is no love; without mothers, there are no heroes.'
Proud of the outstanding tradition of the fairer sex, on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day October 20, when speaking about Vietnamese women today, one thing can be affirmed: 'The role and position of women in society are increasingly elevated and contribute more and more to the general development in all fields.'
The country will forever be proud of Vietnamese women: 'Proficient in work, capable in household duties' in every aspect, Vietnamese women excellently fulfill their roles, carving into the nation's history a noble and radiant image.
Women in every era manifest different characteristics demanded by history. Merely with their inherent traits: kindness, loyalty in the roles of wife, mother, and sister, they are the cohesive essence preserving family happiness and are worthy of being honored as the most beautiful souls.
In their roles as mothers and wives, women are also deserving of admiration and respect. Behind the lesson plans are myriad family concerns, children, the duty of keeping the fire burning in the family, always standing by, reminding sisters to wholeheartedly serve their loved ones.
Respected delegates, dear teachers!
October 20 is a long historical story of the struggle for equality and happiness for Vietnamese women, and women themselves have made October 20th historic. On this October 20th, I wish all mothers and sisters happiness and overflowing health.

Dear all comrades!
Throughout revolutionary periods, women gradually affirmed their position and role, as recognized by history. As Uncle Ho once said: 'The greatness of Vietnam lies in its women, young and old, who weave and embroider to add beauty and radiance.' In the timeless Will left to the entire Party and people before departing, he wrote: 'In the anti-American, nation-saving cause, women have contributed significantly to both the fight and production. The Party and Government need practical plans to nurture, elevate, and assist more women to take on all tasks, including leadership roles. Women themselves must strive to rise up.
With their tradition and good qualities, at any time, in any circumstance, the moral virtues of Vietnamese women always shine, contributing to enhancing the role and position of women in families and society.
Today, women are more involved in community activities. From there, they have more opportunities to access information and knowledge, enhance their understanding of laws and policies; the need for networking, expanding relationships, practicing democracy will help women integrate better into social life and create conditions for gender equality. Vietnamese women are always the pride of the nation. Women have and continue to uphold the tradition of 'Heroic, Indomitable, Industrious, and Reliable,' contributing significantly to the nation-building and defense cause; at the same time, they are always a reliable support for every family, building increasingly prosperous and beautiful lives.
Finally, I wish all comrades abundant health, happiness, and success. I wish all sisters always cheerful, beautiful, healthy, and loving life. Live to the fullest, burn brightly; know how to love what you have and perfect what you do not have, affirm yourself in life with sincerity, forgiveness, loyalty, intelligence, and love.
We deeply appreciate the attention and listening of all comrades and women!
=> Not only recounting the history and significance of Vietnamese Women's Day, this speech also serves as a wish for all women.
Speech Reflecting on the Tradition of October 20th, No. 4
A profound speech on revisiting the historical tradition of October 20th
Respected comrades and delegates!
Dear comrades and union members of the school!
Amidst the excitement and pride of women nationwide commemorating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2014), today, at ... - The school's union joyfully organizes the celebration of Vietnamese Women's Day October 20. On behalf of the party cell and leadership...., I extend heartfelt wishes of health and happiness to all of you and your colleagues. Wishing today's gathering to be joyful, united, and enthusiastic.
Respected delegates and dear sisters!
Throughout history, Vietnamese women have left a profound mark on literature and the nation's history, from Mother Au Co leading her children to establish the nation, to the Trung Sisters, Lady Trieu raising the flag and leading uprisings against foreign domination, to Queen Dowager Duong Van Nga, Empress Ỷ Lan, Admiral Bui Thi Xuan... in every era, there have been outstanding women who have contributed to the nation and lived on in the hearts of the people.
Continuing that glorious tradition, Vietnamese women in the era of Ho Chi Minh continue to dedicate themselves, contribute their efforts to the cause of building and defending the country. From the realities of life and struggle, the precious qualities and virtues of Vietnamese women have been formed, summarized by President Ho Chi Minh with 8 golden words: 'Heroic, Unyielding, Virtuous, Capable.'
Women have always held an important position in the formation of the national community, in the struggle to build and defend the nation. Through the ups and downs of history, no one can deny the significant role of women.
Today, women have shown their role is no less than men, they rise up to assert themselves. Dynamic and creative in their work, honored in society while never forgetting their role, position, and duties in family life. Many women hold positions within the Party, State apparatus, and organizations. The proportion of female deputies in our National Assembly is increasing. Many women are successful business owners, making effective contributions to the state budget and creating jobs for workers. Our Party and State care, create conditions for women to fulfill their duties in any field. Especially in the current period of socialist-oriented market economy, Vietnamese women strive to achieve goals such as: 'Being healthy, knowledgeable, skilled, dynamic, creative, having a cultural lifestyle, and being compassionate,' contributing to the successful realization of the goal of 'A Prosperous People, A Strong Nation, Democracy, Equality, Civilization.'
Respected delegates and beloved sisters!
As they say, 'Behind every successful man, there is a woman', and this is indeed true. We understand that 'High mountains have high grounds, low mountains have low grounds'. The success of our male comrades in their careers and happiness in their family lives is thanks to the sacrifice and forgiveness of our sisters and friends.
On this occasion, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our comrades and colleagues with heartfelt sincerity. We wish everyone, all comrades, and families good health and happiness. We wish all women on October 20th overflowing joy, happiness, and abundant success.

Speech revisiting October 20th
Respected colleagues in the school's pedagogical council!
Dear all sisters!
In the spirit of celebrating October 20th, commemorating the XX anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union, and joining in the joy, excitement, and pride of women from all walks of life; today, the Trade Union of the school ... solemnly organizes the Ceremony commemorating the XX anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union (20/10/1930 - 20/10/20XX). On behalf of the Trade Union Executive Committee, the women's team..., I would like to extend my greetings and best wishes for health, happiness, and success to all female teachers and staff in the school, and also to their partners, girlfriends, and wives through our male colleagues!
Respected colleagues!
Vietnamese women, throughout history, have always embodied noble qualities bestowed by Uncle Ho: 'Heroic - Indomitable - Magnanimous - Capable.' The heroines in the struggle against foreign invaders for independence and freedom for our nation, such as the Trung Sisters, Lady Trieu; General Bui Thi Xuan, Madame Nguyen Thi Dinh... On all fronts, women have demonstrated their role and position; in labor, they are diligent and industrious, working tirelessly day and night; in life, they take care of their families, ensuring warmth, happiness, and raising heroic offspring of the nation; In the revolutionary struggle, they are not only solid rear support for the frontlines but also resilient and indomitable revolutionary soldiers, women's youth volunteers, leading the way, carrying ammunition full of passion, patriotism, fighting wholeheartedly for the homeland, sacrificing for the country without fear of hardship or difficulty, like Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Vo Thi Sau, Doctor Dang Thuy Tram... Besides, countless women silently bid farewell to their husbands, sons departing for battle, waiting tirelessly day by day, longing for news, only to silently shed tears when their loved ones never return, they are the heroic mothers of Vietnam.
In any role, women demonstrate their roles, strengths, and inherent cleverness. They are the resilient fighters against foreign invaders, the diligent and creative workers, the guardians of lineage and the promotion of national culture, and the creators of heroic generations of a heroic nation.
Recognizing and deeply understanding the role of women, right after our Party was founded (February 3, 1930), in each historical period, our Party organized women's organizations with different names, later known as the Vietnam Women's Union, with October 20, 1930, as the founding day of the Union.
Growing up in the revolutionary movement of the nation, Vietnamese women have presented many shining examples with noble qualities of loyalty to the Fatherland, spirit of courageous sacrifice, determination to protect the Party, and revolution. The glorious history of the nation's revolutionary struggle is always associated with the history of the Vietnamese women's movement.
Upholding the tradition of Vietnamese women as 'Heroic, Indomitable, Magnanimous, and Capable,' entering the country's renewal process under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnam Women's Union has built movements to encourage 'Women to actively study, work creatively, and build happy families'; 'Women excel in national work and household tasks', etc., which have inspired and attracted a large number of women to participate. Many women have become exemplary figures in good labor, creative work, scientists, managers, educators, and skilled doctors ..., deserving to be Vietnamese women 'Dynamic, Creative, Magnanimous, and Capable' in the period of renovation.
Dear comrades, dear all sisters!
There have been countless poems, writings, music pieces, and artworks praising the physical beauty, qualities, intelligence, and soul of women. On a day as joyful and meaningful as this, it would be incomplete if we did not discuss the beauty of women, explore, and appreciate the virtues and nuances of women in various aspects of life. Aristotle once said: 'Before women and music, time becomes meaningless'. Because women and music are always beautiful, peaceful, attractive, and noble gardens. Indeed, all the mysteries of this world cannot match the mystery of women. Their mystery always attracts, urges men to explore, conquer. When discovered, they are always admired and feel small in front of women. Because 'women are always ready to sacrifice if given the opportunity, as their specialty is to yield'. Therefore, writer Van Cong Hung had to thank his wife with burning verses:
'There are times when I escape the hustle and bustle, leaning on you
Like a ship on the high seas anchored to the motherland
Life quietly, life screams
Returning to you, I return to myself'
Meanwhile, poet Huu Thinh compares lovers, women to an indispensable element in this life, if lacking women everything becomes desolate. It seems that women are the conductors of life, without them life does not exist, only wilderness, desolation:
'He distances himself from her
The moon is lonely
The sun is lonely too
The sea remains vast on its own
A slight absence of sails... already feels lonely
The wind is not a whip but the mountain wall must erode
You are not the twilight but you dye me purple
The waves won't go anywhere if they don't take you
Even the waves have made me
Tilt
For you!'
Dear all sisters, dear comrades!
We are very proud of the mothers, sisters, and daughters - the women of Vietnam. They embody the 'three responsibilities, four virtues', are 'heroes, indomitable, magnanimous, and capable', are the shining examples of being 'proficient in national tasks, responsible in household duties'. To continue to promote those virtues and glorious traditions, on this October 20th, I hope that sisters and comrades will reflect on and contemplate the image of Vietnamese women. Firstly, let us cherish and honor them; let us care for them, show them lots of love; let us together affirm one thing:
'Amidst the ups and downs of life
Women are still flowers, angels of the land
Even if tomorrow the sun goes out
Call out the name 'women' like a beacon of hope'
In closing, I would like to extend our regards to the other half of our world, which is you, gentlemen, the lovers, husbands, and fathers. It's said that behind the success of a man, there's always the presence of a woman, and truth be told, behind the success of our women is also the image of you all.
Finally, I wish all comrades abundant health, happiness, and success. To all sisters: Be joyful, beautiful, healthy, and love life. Live to the fullest, burn with passion; cherish what you have, improve what you lack, affirm yourselves in life with sincerity, forgiveness, loyalty, intelligence, and love.
We sincerely appreciate the attention and listening of all comrades and sisters!
