Once activated, Windows Media Player allows you to preview songs without opening them, enabling you to identify the desired melody and decide whether to play the entire song. Notably, this feature is currently unavailable on popular players like VLC Media Player or Media Player Classic.
Quickly listen to songs, automatically preview songs on Windows Media Player
Step 1: Access Windows Media Player on your computer, click on Tools on the Windows Media Player interface by right-clicking on the toolbar, select Show menu bar, or you can also press Ctrl + M to quickly open this tool.
Another handy Windows Media Player keyboard shortcut to open the menu bar containing Tools on Windows Media Player is F10. If your computer does not support activating the feature always by F10, please try using the key combination Fn + F10.
Step 2: Press Tools > select Options.
Step 3: Navigate to the Library tab within the Options interface of Windows Media Player.
Step 4: Select the option Automatically preview songs when hovering over track titles
