Spellbreak is a third-person action spellcasting game where you play as a mighty Battlemage skilled in using elements to fight against other players.
Download Spellbreak on PC, Xbox One, and PS4:
At the beginning of each Spellbreak match, you'll choose from character classes like Pyromancer or Frostborn, each associated with a different element. Throughout the 15-minute battle, you'll level up and unlock new skills, find magical gauntlets allowing you to cast new spells, and explore Runes granting you abilities like invisibility, flight, instant teleportation, and more. Customize your character further with dozens of different talents to truly build your own character. With all this power, you can fight solo against 41 other players or team up with friends to face the challenge.
When talking about power, let's discuss some spells and magic. But before doing so, it's crucial to note a significant difference between Spellbreak and other similar games: spells are actual projectiles, not just 'bullets.' This means players not only need accuracy to hit their target but also need to time it right. On the flip side, when you're under attack, you'll see spells flying towards you and can dodge them by moving or counter-attacking with your own skills.
For instance, when using Stone gauntlets, you'll be able to cast Shockwave spell and Boulderfall magic. Shockwave causes the ground in front of you to erupt with a jagged layer of earth, dealing damage to anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in its path. Shockwave follows the terrain, rising and falling smoothly, but since it's on the ground, your target might leap out of its path or jump over it. If your opponent is farther away, Boulderfall allows you to launch a flying rock through the sky and land it with an explosive impact.
As a Battlemage, you'll wear not just one but two gauntlets, giving you the ability to use two different spells and two different magics. This doesn't just mean more flexibility but also more depth. In Spellbreak, elements not only interact with each other but also the battlefield. If you use Boulderfall on an opponent wearing Wind gauntlets, they can use Wind Shear spell to redirect the trajectory of the rock, potentially even sending it back towards you; that's called a counter-attack. If you're using Fire gauntlets along with your Stone gauntlets, you can send a Shockwave ripple through a Flamewall fire wall, turning the cracks on the ground into a deadly stream of fire, or you can throw Boulderfall through the same fire wall to ignite it as it flies through the sky.
Elemental interactions aren't just limited to offensive capabilities. Combine Toxic Cloud with ice, and you can freeze it to create a solid object, used for climbing or blocking an area (especially if you then throw a Fireball into it, it will explode into a particularly dangerous green flame). An Electrified Tornado will shock anyone foolish enough to come close. There are dozens of these interactions in Spellbreak, but you'll have to experiment on your own to discover them all.
