In Spy X Family, Loid Forger carries a tragic history akin to the most dangerous antagonist in My Hero Academia.
The similarities between characters in different anime are quite common. Many viewers have noticed the intriguing parallels between the past of the spy Loid Forger in this spring's anime Spy X Family and the leader of the league of antagonists in My Hero Academia.
In Spy X Family, when Anya gets kidnapped and the news reaches Loid, he wastes no time in rescuing her. After successfully saving Anya from the kidnappers, she cries tears of joy upon reuniting with her father. This moment triggers memories for Loid, reminding him of his past and why he despises the sound of a child crying so much.
While escaping with his daughter Anya from pursuers, Loid reflects on his childhood. Similar to Anya, he was an orphaned child but not even given protection. Instead, he was left on the streets and had to find a way to fend for himself.
After being abandoned for a long time, Loid shed tears for his fate. The inability to change his circumstances left him in despair, and crying was the only thing he could do at that moment. Unfortunately, this memory haunts him, and every time he hears the cry of a child, it all comes rushing back, making him uncomfortable.
Loid's past in Spy X Family closely mirrors Shigaraki Tomura's in My Hero Academia. After destroying his family and home, Shigaraki was abandoned and wandered the streets much like Loid. He faced the indifference of passersby who recognized his distress but ignored it. Shigaraki's childhood parallels Loid's, but the intriguing part is how these experiences led both to different paths.
Immediately after rescuing Anya from her kidnappers, Loid starts blaming himself for involving a child in espionage. His entire reason for becoming a spy is to contribute to creating a world where children won't have to cry anymore. He despises his own loneliness to the point where he vows to help other children avoid similar experiences.
Placing Anya in such a perilous situation is completely contrary to what Loid desires. This incident makes him want to send the girl back to the orphanage. Anya understands her father's reasoning but decides to bond with Loid and refuses to return to the orphanage.
Meanwhile, Shigaraki thinks in the opposite direction. His disappointment with those who abandoned him grows to the point where he is determined to destroy everything. Quickly rescued by All For One, Shigaraki becomes the current symbol of evil.
