International Standard Container Sizes
According to ISO 668:1995(E) standard, the dimensions and weight of standard 20’ and 40’ containers are as follows.

Depending on the manufacturer and different types of containers, containers come in various sizes. However, due to the need for standardization for global use, container sizes are typically applied according to ISO standards. According to ISO 668:1995(E), all ISO containers have a width of 2.438m (8ft).
- The container height mainly comes in 2 types: standard containers (8 feet 6 inches (8’6”)) and high cube containers (9 feet 6 inches (9’6”)).
- The length of containers is based on the 40’ container as the standard. Shorter containers have lengths calculated to fit under a 40’ container and still ensure a 3-inch gap in the middle.
